Robot-assisted delayed extraction of retained Lasso catheter combined with mitral valve repair and arrhythmia ablation

چکیده
Case report A 53-year-old man underwent an ablation procedure for atrial fibrillation; however, the tip of the Lasso catheter (Biosense Webster, Inc, Diamond Bar, California) used for the ablation was entrapped in the mitral subvalvular apparatus (Figure 1A & B). Despite extensive efforts, the tip of the catheter broke and attempts at extraction were unsuccessful. The catheter tip was entrapped among the chordae of the mitral valve

Epicardial catheter ablation of ventricular tachycardia in no entry left ventricle: mechanical aortic and mitral valves.
BACKGROUND In patients with mechanical aortic and mitral valves and left ventricular tachycardia, catheter ablation may be prevented by limited access to the left ventricle. METHODS AND RESULTS In our series of 6 patients, 2 patients underwent direct surgical ablation and 4 underwent epicardial catheter ablation via a pericardial window. All patients had abnormal low voltage areas with fracti...
متن کاملAdvances in Catheter Ablation: Atrial Fibrillation Ablation in Patients With Mitral Mechanical Prosthetic Valve
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is common in patients with mitral valve replacement (MVR). Treatment of AF in these subjects is challenging, as the arrhythmia is often refractory to antiarrhythmic drug therapy. Radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) is usually avoided or delayed in patients with MVR due to the higher perceived risks and difficulty of left atrial catheter manipulation in the presence ...
متن کاملTechnique and results of linear ablation at the mitral isthmus.
BACKGROUND This prospective clinical study evaluates the feasibility and efficacy of combined linear mitral isthmus ablation and pulmonary vein (PV) isolation in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF). METHODS AND RESULTS One hundred consecutive patients (13 women; age 55+/-10 years) with drug-refractory, symptomatic paroxysmal AF underwent PV isolation and linear ablation of the c...
متن کاملWorsening of mitral valve regurgitation after radiofrequency catheter ablation of ventricular arrhythmia originating from a left ventricular papillary muscle
Introduction Papillary muscles (PMs) of the left ventricle (LV) have been shown to be a potential origin of ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) in patients with or without structural heart disease. Recently, a “malignant” arrhythmia phenotype in patients with mitral valve prolapse (MVP) who experienced lifethreatening VAs has been reported. This subset of patients with MVP was characterized by comple...
متن کاملCatheter Ablation of Mitral Isthmus Flutter Post Mitral Valve Repair and Surgical Maze: Case Report and Review of the Literature
Hereby we describe a case of LAF developed after a surgical Maze procedure that demonstrates the importance of a systematic approach to mapping and ablating atypical atrial flutter to prevent a recurrence of symptomatic arrhythmia. In patients with previous cardiac surgery procedures, and in particular after a surgical maze, there are many different potential LA reentry circuits that involve va...
